Handling

Insert the Wellion GALILEO blood glucose test strip into the test strip slot and the Wellion GALILEO audio meter will switch on automatically. The meter will say “Please apply blood to the test strip” if the voice function is activated. Using a fresh lancet and the Wellion lancing device, obtain a drop of blood and allow it to be drawn from the tip of the test strip into the reaction zone. The meter emits a beep to indicate when there is sufficient blood for the measurement. The current blood glucose level is then measured from this drop. After 5 seconds, the result appears on the display and is announced verbally if the voice function is activated. The test result is automatically stored in the meter.

Features

The Wellion GALILEO audio enables blind and visually impaired people to monitor their blood glucose levels. It features a voice output function that can be used as an auditory aid to allow you to hear test results. The voice function is enabled by default, but can be switched off to save battery power. When the voice function is switched off, the device uses beeps to alert you to important information.

The Wellion GALILEO audio blood glucose meter does not need to be coded; direct measurement is possible after inserting the test strip. The measurement results are read out directly after the measurement by means of the speech function and can also be read off the large display.

The Wellion GALILEO test strip is easy to handle due to its optimal size. Due to the noticeable differences between the top and bottom side and the front and back side, inserting the test strip into the blood glucose meter is easy.

With the Wellion GALILEO audio, average values of 7, 14 and 30 days can be displayed for a more accurate assessment of diabetes settings.

The Wellion GALILEO audio blood glucose meter is used with the Wellion GALILEO blood glucose Teststrips.

The Wellion GALILEO blood glucose meters fulfill the criteria of the new EN ISO 15197:2015. The study “System accuracy assessments with a blood glucose meter with combined glucose and ß-hydroxybutyrate measurement capabilities” shows the fulfilled accuracy of ± 10% of Wellion GALILEO meters for glucose measurements.
